1. Internet Vs WWW & Ownership

The Internet is a global network of billions of servers, computers, and other hardware devices. Each device can connect with any other device as long as both are connected to the Internet using a valid IP address.

It makes the information sharing system (web) possible.

The web (World Wide Web) is one of the ways information is shared on the Internet (others include email, File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and instant messaging services).

The web is composed of billions of connected digital documents that are viewed in a web browser (Chrome, Firefox etc.)

Internet is a truly global system. Cables crisscross countries and oceans, crossing borders and linking some of the world's most remote locations to everyone else. And it is still growing as more devices get connected.


Who owns the Internet?

  2. Lots of people

There are organizations that determine the Internet's structure and how it works, but they don't have any ownership over the Internet itself -- no one owns the whole thing.
